We all love a fabulous winter boot, in my case I love many and simply cannot have enough.

So what are the key factors for purchasing the perfect boot for winter?

Warmth, breathability, comfort, ankle support and of course my very favourite design.

If a boot is of exceptional high quality, you will find all the above factors will be incorporated.

Ladies check the quality of the leather, the upper and the lining. If a leather stretches and doesn’t retain it’s original shape, you immediately know it is terrible quality.

Always look at where the boots are manufactured. Yes in truth you find good and bad producers in every country around the world, however I stand to support ‘you pay for what you get’. If you spend $150 on a leather boot, the chances are the lining and sole will by synthetic and the outer leather all of very poor quality.

Blisters will become your new friend and more than likely you will be in search for a new high quality boot that will last you for the next ten years.

Design…….well I’m all for a crazy, unique boot to be the feature of my outfit. My shoe and boot designs always speak my personality.

If you have a limited budget, yet need a fabulous high quality to die for boot, I always recommend a design that is simple yet so stylish in cut and shape. A badly cut boot will ruin any outfit. Stick with versatile colours such as navy, brown or black.

And remember if your boots don’t have your partner wanting to rip them off of you, they probably aren’t sexy enough!
